Paul K. Sun Jr.Paul Sun's practice focuses primarily on business litigation and appeals. Mr. Sun has experience in the areas of trade secrets and unfair competition, business and health care fraud (civil and criminal), employment, consumer claims, premises and product liability, and contract disputes. He has tried cases in areas as varied as health care fraud, product liability/wrongful death, and First Amendment. Mr. Sun also regularly handles civil and criminal appeals in the North Carolina and federal appellate courts. He presently serves as the Rules Editor for the American Bar Assocation's Appellate Practice Journal. In 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, he was recognized by North Carolina Super Lawyers. He was named in Best Lawyers in America in 2007, 2008 and 2010, and Chambers USA Leading Lawyers in 2007. Mr. Sun was recognized in the 2009 edition of Chambers USA for his general commercial litigation work. He was named to the Super Lawyers list for 2009 for outstanding achievement in his practice areas by Law & Politics, which publishes the annual North Carolina Super Lawyers Magazine. Mr. Sun graduated magna cum laude from Wittenberg University in 1979. He received his masters degree in 1981 from Vanderbilt University, where he was the Founder's Medalist. He received his J.D. degree from Duke University with Highest Honors in 1989 and served as Articles Editor for the Duke Law Journal. Mr. Sun served as law clerk to the Honorable J. Dickson Phillips, Jr., of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit from 1989-90. Mr. Sun has a peer review rating of AV® in Martindale-Hubbell. Admissions
