Meghan Skirving Thelen

Meghan Skirving Thelen practices in the area of litigation representing businesses, universities, and individuals in complex litigation, medical malpractice defense, and products liability matters. Prior to joining Ellis & Winters LLP, Ms. Thelen was an associate at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP in New York City, where she represented corporate and individual clients in civil litigations pending before federal and state courts throughout the United States. She also represented a large financial institution through the course of criminal investigations conducted by the United States Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service. In addition, Ms. Thelen was awarded a firm-sponsored pro bono externship whereby she spent six months as a Special Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County (Brooklyn) District Attorney’s Office. In that position, Ms. Thelen gained valuable trial experience prosecuting felony and misdemeanor cases to verdict.

Ms. Thelen received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in History. Prior to law school, Ms. Thelen worked as a legal assistant in the Technology Law Practice at Steptoe & Johnson LLP in Washington, D.C.
