Ashley Brathwaite Elected to Board of Directors of North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys

Ellis & Winters partner Ashley Brathwaite has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys (NCADA). Ms. Brathwaite will serve a three-year term.

The North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys is a professional organization of nearly 900 attorneys and paralegals who devote a majority of their time to representing the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. The organization works to promote the administration of justice, the exchange of information, ideas, and litigation techniques, and to strengthen the practice, improve the skills, and enhance the knowledge of lawyers defending individuals and businesses in North Carolina. NCADA is a voice for defense counsel through publications, dealings with the judiciary, public positions on matters of interest, and participation in a variety of events connected with the bench, the bar and the business community.

Ashley Brathwaite’s practice is divided between the representation of health care providers, product manufacturers and distributors, and others facing allegations of liability for a catastrophic personal injury.  She regularly defends cases involving claims of negligence, professional malpractice, breach of warranty, fraud, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and gross negligence. Ms. Brathwaite is rated AV® Preeminent in Martindale-Hubbell, listed in Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite, and has been named a “North Carolina Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine. She received her B.A. from Furman University and her J.D. from Campbell University.
