Ellis & Winters wins Inspire Award at Komen Race for the Cure

Ellis & Winters received the 2009 Komen NC Triangle Inspire Award, as well as the Fundraising Award in the small corporation category, at their awards dinner on Sept. 17.

Inspired by Kristi Winters Walker’s battle with breast cancer, Ellis & Winters brought a sea of blue “Kristi’s Crew” participants to the 2009 Race for the Cure. The team of 280 raised $24,000 to earn the fundraising award.

“We know that Ellis & Winters still feels the loss of Kristi acutely, but they are determined to do all they can to help create a world without breast cancer – a world where every mother has the chance to see her children grow up,” said the Komen presenter.

“Kristi is inspiring those who knew her and those whom she never met. This inspiration is saving lives.”

Ellis & Winters will continue its commitment to Komen by being a Gold Sponsor of the 2010 Race.
