Paul Cox Presents Program at ABA Litigation Conference on Protections for LGBT Individuals
May 3, 2017 | San Francisco, CA
Paul M. Cox
On May 3, 2017, the American Bar Association presented a program at the ABA’s inaugural LBGT Forum, an event in San Francisco that preceded the ABA Section of Litigation Annual Conference. Organized by Ellis & Winters attorney Paul Cox, a panel of national experts and advocates spoke on recent developments in the law on the protection of transgender individuals.
Panelists included practitioners from advocacy organizations that litigate on behalf of the rights of transgender individuals, and lawyers from private law firms who partner with the advocacy community in legal actions on behalf of transgender clients. The panelists discussed recent advancements, as well as setbacks, in how courts and governmental agencies have addressed discrimination against transgender people.
A recent law clerk on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Mr. Cox serves on the leadership of the ABA Appellate Practice Committee, which sponsored the panel. Ellis & Winters attorney Stephen Feldman is the chair of the Appellate Practice Committee.
