Overview

Chazle’ Woodley is a native North Carolinian who grew up in Durham and moved back to the area in 2019 to attend law school as a scholarship student. Before returning to NC, Chazle’ spent several years in Chicago, working predominantly in the non-profit arena after earning her MBA. During her tenure working with non-profit organizations, she assisted the previously incarcerated and homeless as they transitioned into homes, education, and the workforce. She especially enjoyed finding homes for homeless youth and young adults as they pursued their educations and finding employment.

Chazle’ is a member of the firm’s Litigation Group and focuses her practice on complex commercial disputes and tort matters, including product liability defense and general liability claims. While in law school, Chazle’ served as President of the Student Bar Association, Managing Editor of the Environmental Law Review, Vice President of the Civil Rights Society, Director of Teen Court, and served on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the late Dean Browne Lewis. She was also a summer associate at the Center for Death Penalty and Litigation, and Ellis & Winters.

Noting that there has been a lot of change in the Greater Raleigh and Triad areas since her return, Chazle’ is excited about the revitalization while remaining wary of the perils that gentrification can have on a community. She has become involved in “building community” where she lives and works with an open and inclusive approach. Her self-described passion for people, is apparent by her interest in integrating newer residents with those that have lived within the area their entire lives.

Both Chazle’ and her husband work to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion causes. Her husband is an educator with a heart for assisting marginalized youth reach their maximum potential. Chazle’ is a member of Ellis & Winters Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the Recruiting Committee.

When she’s not busy serving clients, Chazle’ most enjoys spending time with her husband and young son engaging within their local community.
