Laura Burkett is a real estate attorney who focuses her practice primarily in the area of commercial real estate and development. She is well-versed in the real estate industry and in guiding clients through all types of commercial property transactions. Laura’s local legal and business connections make her a great asset to her clients.
Prior to joining Ellis & Winters, Laura was an associate attorney at a Triangle-area real estate law firm. She also served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable R. Christopher Dillon of the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Laura attended law school at the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she served as an editor of the First Amendment Law Review and completed externships with the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the in-house legal department of an organization serving startups and small businesses.
In addition to her legal practice, Laura enjoys exploring the Triangle’s hiking trails and eateries with her spouse, Josh, and their two dogs. She also enjoys running, reading, and tackling various home improvement projects in her historic home.
