Margery Clifton started her career working with law firms more than 20 years ago after graduating from Meredith College. She launched her career by working in a local firm’s mail room and has been serving as Ellis & Winter’s Director of Administration for more than nine years. Margery truly is the firm’s go to problem-solver for attorneys and staff professionals alike. In the off chance she cannot answer a specific question, she can always put you in contact with the right person, and ensure you have all the right answers.
Margery’s day to day duties include managing firm support staff, and firm human resources needs including benefits and payroll, and working closely with partners and the management committee to ensure daily operations are running smoothly. Her tasks are operational in nature with her main focuses being HR and financial data. Margery is always eager to work with clients whenever possible and enjoys interacting with internal staff daily.
Margery served as President of the Raleigh Durham Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) from March 2020 – March 2021. She continues to remain involved in ALA as a part of the community connections and salary & benefits survey teams. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in the mountains with her husbands and twin sons.
