Jacob V. Stewart

Overview

Jacob is a trial and litigation attorney who focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation. Before joining Ellis & Winters, Jacob served as a law clerk to Judge Jeff Carpenter on the North Carolina Court of Appeals and to Chief Judge Martin Reidinger on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina.

Jacob earned his law degree, cum laude, from Campbell University School of Law, where he served as the executive editor of the Campbell Law Review and as a legal-writing scholar. Prior to law school, he earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in accounting, both from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Although currently inactive, Jacob worked as a certified public accountant before attending law school.

Using both his business acumen and legal training, Jacob approaches every case with a strategic mindset. This gives him a competitive edge in understanding how to achieve his clients’ goals while ensuring adherence to the law.

When not busy serving his clients, Jacob enjoys spending time with his wife, his daughter, and their two doodle dogs.  Jacob also likes to run, read, and spend time outdoors.
