American Bar Association
Founded in 1878, the American Bar Association is the largest voluntary association of lawyers in the world, and comprises lawyers and law students not specific to any jurisdiction in the United States. The ABA’s mission is to “serve equally [our] members, [our] profession and the public by defending liberty and delivering justice as the national representative of the legal profession.” The ABA aims to eliminate bias in the legal profession and the justice system while working to advance the Rule of Law.

American Board of Trial Advocates
The American Board of Trial Advocates is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges who are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. ABOTA’s mission is to “…foster improvement in the ethical and technical standards of practice in the field of advocacy to the end that individual litigants may receive more effective representation and the general public be benefited by more efficient administration of justice consistent with time-tested and traditional principles of litigation.”

American College of Trial Lawyers
The American College of Trial Lawyers is an invitation-only fellowship of exceptional trial lawyers of diverse backgrounds from the U.S. and Canada. ACTL maintains and seeks to improve the standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics, and the administration of justice through education and public statements on important legal issues relating to its mission.

American Correctional Association
The American Correctional Association is an organization for public and private individuals and groups that aim to improve the justice system. According to its vision statement, “The American Correctional Association shapes the future of corrections through strong, progressive leadership that brings together various voices and forges coalitions and partnerships to promote the concepts embodied in its Declaration of Principles.” Goals include membership, diversity, professional development, standards and accreditation, research and education, public perception of corrections, international relations, and ethics.

American Law Institute
The American Law Institute is an independent organization in the U.S. producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and otherwise improve the law. ALI drafts, discusses, revises, and publishes Restatements of the Law, Model Codes, and Principles of Law that are enormously influential in the courts and legislatures, as well as in legal scholarship and education.

American Society for Healthcare Risk Management
The American Society for Health Care Risk Management is a professional membership group of the American Hospital Association (AHA) with nearly 6,000 members representing risk management, patient safety, insurance, law, and finance. ASHRM promotes risk management strategies and professional leadership through education, recognition, advocacy, publications, and networking with leading health care organizations and government agencies. ASHRM is committed to focusing on effective patient care practices, financial management and maintaining safe work environments.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national construction industry trade association representing more than 21,000 members. Defense Research Institute
DRI advocates the role attorneys play in representing businesses and individuals in civil matters while enhancing skills and professionalism of defense attorneys. DRI has served the defense bar for more than 50 years and focuses on five primary goals: education, justice, balance, economics, and professionalism and service. Federal Bar Association

International Academy of Trial Lawyers
The International Academy of Trial Lawyers is a group of elite trial lawyers representing both sides of the Bar: prosecutors and defense lawyers in criminal cases, and plaintiffs’ and defense counsel in civil litigation, including business and personal injury cases. Fellowship is obtained by invitation only, after an extremely careful vetting process.

National Foundation for Judicial Excellence
The National Foundation for Judicial Excellence supports a strong, independent, responsive judiciary by providing officers of the courts with educational programs and other tools that enable them to perform at their highest level.
