Congratulations, Marcus Shields, National Professional Mediator
Congratulations to Ellis & Winters attorney, Marcus Shields, who recently received a National Professional Certification in Mediation from the National Association of Certified Mediators (NACM). This was a 2023 goal Marcus set for himself and was able to cross it off his list in June.
Before joining Ellis & Winters, Marcus was a District Court Judge in Guilford County and was the presiding judge for the Greensboro Juvenile Drug Treatment Court, the High Point Juvenile Drug Treatment Court, and the Greensboro Adult Mental Health Court. As a member of E&W’s Trial and Litigation Team, Marcus brings a vast array of legal and procedural knowledge to bear representing clients in complex commercial disputes and tort matters.
The NACM is the largest professional certification association in the world for mediators. Through its numerous members, NACM provides certification examinations, training, continuing education, information about the industry, up-to-date news, programs to assist mediators in their work, training programs to assist candidates who want to break into the industry and initiatives to improve communication within the mediation field.
