Congratulations Michelle Liguori
Ellis & Winters congratulates partner Michelle Liguori, who was recently recognized as a Board-Certified Specialist in Appellate Law by the North Carolina State Bar. Michelle focuses her practice on appellate law and business litigation including class actions and other complex business disputes.
Michelle regularly handles appeals in the Fourth Circuit, North Carolina Court of Appeals, and North Carolina Supreme Court, and she has briefed several petitions before the United States Supreme Court. Her appellate practice has spanned a broad array of subject matters, including arbitration disputes, medical malpractice, land use, consumer protection matters, estate litigation, and criminal law. She is a member of the Fourth Circuit’s Criminal Justice Act panel, and on the appointments list for the North Carolina Office of the Appellate Defender.
The North Carolina State Bar, an agency of the State of North Carolina, certifies lawyers as specialists in designated areas of the law as a service to the public. The program assists the public in the selection of legal counsel by identifying lawyers who have demonstrated special knowledge, skill, and proficiency in a specific area of the law. Less than 4% of lawyers in North Carolina are certified as specialists.
