Ashley Brathwaite’s practice is divided between the representation of health care providers, product manufacturers and distributors, and others facing allegations of liability for a catastrophic personal injury. She regularly defends cases involving claims of negligence, professional malpractice, breach of warranty, fraud, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and gross negligence. She has been named to Business North Carolina’s “Legal Elite” in the Young Guns category (2011—2015), named a “Rising Star” in Medical Malpractice by North Carolina Super Lawyers (2013 & 2014), and maintains an AV Preeminent rating in Martindale-Hubbell. Ms. Brathwaite received her bachelor of arts degree from Furman University and her juris doctor from Campbell University.
Kurt Dumaw practices primarily in the areas of commercial real estate acquisitions and project development, mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions, wireless telecommunications, and construction contracts. Mr. Dumaw has served as lead counsel on numerous mergers and reorganizations, business and finance transactions, real estate developments, wind and solar energy projects, and commercial financing transactions. He serves as outside general counsel to several clients and maintains an AV Preeminent rating in Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Dumaw received his bachelor of arts from the University of Michigan and his juris doctor, cum laude, from Boston University School of Law.
Jamie Weiss focuses his litigation practice in the areas of higher education, complex business disputes, and departing employees. Mr. Weiss has represented clients as diverse as Fortune 500 companies, private universities, a manufacturer of carbon fiber composites, and a developer of K—12 educational software. He has also represented universities in suits brought by former students, businesses in cases involving departing employees and trade secrets, and individuals in suits alleging unfair competition and unfair trade practices. Mr. Weiss has been named a North Carolina Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in business litigation (2013 & 2014). He received his bachelor of arts from the University of Virginia and his juris doctor from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis.
