Ellis & Winters Attorneys Recognized in Benchmark Litigation
Ellis & Winters LLP has been recognized as an industry leader in the sixth edition of Benchmark Litigation. Described as a “great boutique, smaller, more litigation-focused”, Ellis & Winters was also labeled by a peer as “the gold standard firm, rock solid.”
Benchmark Litigation cited five members of the firm’s litigation group for excellence, noting Ellis & Winters “compact arsenal of crackerjack litigators”. Richard W. Ellis, founding partner of Ellis & Winters, along with Jonathan D. Sasser, Leslie C. Packer, Matthew W. Sawchak and Paul K. Sun Jr. were touted as “local litigation stars” in the North Carolina section of the annual report.
Benchmark Litigation drew on Legal Media Group’s extensive database of contacts, conducting extensive face-to-face interviews with the country’s leading litigators, with general counsel from the Fortune 500 companies, investment banks and other large businesses, and with judges. To be selected for Benchmark Litigation, a firm’s attorneys needed to be consistently recommended by its peers and clients.
Benchmark is a Legal Media Group publication that aims to be the definitive guide to America’s leading business litigation firms and attorneys and is the only publication on the market to focus exclusively on litigation in the US. Its US-based research team compiled the Litigation Stars lists from recommendations made through personal and telephone interviews with the nation’s leading private practice lawyers and in-house counsel. These interviews were conducted between January and June 2012, with the goal of pinpointing the best all-around “bet-the-company” trial attorneys at both the local and national levels.
