For the Tenth Year, Ellis & Winters Receives High Honors from Chambers USA

For the tenth consecutive year, Chambers USA has accorded leading rankings in North Carolina to Ellis & Winters and seven of its lawyers. In the 2014 edition of Chambers USA, the firm is highly rated in each of its primary areas of practice: antitrust, bankruptcy/restructuring, litigation, and real estate.

Ellis & Winters, with nearly 35 lawyers, is one of the smallest law firms in North Carolina to receive such accolades from the independent research publisher Chambers and Partners, considered the most prestigious of law firm rating organizations.

Chambers USA gives its top rating in North Carolina to the firm’s litigation practice, describing it as “a leader in litigation,” and “a North Carolina team that just does outstanding work.”

The firm also received Chambers’ highest rating in the state in antitrust. The organization quotes sources as saying, “the firm puts a premium on client service and makes everything seamless.”

The firm’s bankruptcy practice was given high praise by the publication, stating that the firm is known for “respected creditor-side representation from a compact group of bankruptcy litigators.” Clients interviewed by the publication were quoted as saying “their technical skills and knowledge of the law are superior, and they have a very sound negotiation skill set.”

The firm’s real estate practice is also highly rated, with Chambers research sources describing the lawyers as “full service, very knowledgeable, and very accessible.” In addition, the following seven Ellis & Winters attorneys were identified as leading lawyers in their fields:

The Chambers USA directory is published annually by UK-based Chambers and Partners. The independent guide is compiled by a team of more than 50 researchers based on thousands of in-depth telephone interviews with lawyers and clients throughout the United States.

The qualities on which rankings are assessed include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other characteristics most valued by clients.
