Frank Scott Speaks with Ellis & Winters Summer Associates
Frank Scott of the Wendell Scott Foundation visited the Greensboro office of Ellis & Winters on Tuesday, July 27th to speak to summer associates, Trey Ellis, Eric Cunningham, and Andrew Parks Carter. Mr. Scott, a long-time friend and client of partner, Jon Sasser, is the son of Wendell Scott, the first African American race car driver to win a race at NASCAR’S highest level, the Grand National in 1963.
The Wendell Scott Foundation is a national, non-profit organization, with the mission of using educational attainment to end racial disparities in education and health and improving future success in African American communities.
Foundation services include mentoring and job readiness programs, leadership opportunities for at-risk adolescents, and Camp Cultivation, where high schoolers can explore STEM careers. The Foundation also strives to make certain that Wendell Scott’s determination to accomplish his goals despite many challenges will be carried on among the lives it serves.
