Jon A. Berkelhammer Receives Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy from NCADA
Jon Berkelhammer, a partner in the firm’s Greensboro office, received the Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy from the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys (NCADA). Former Managing Partner, Leslie Packer, presented the award to Jon at NCADA’s 48th Annual Meeting held June 12-15 in Wilmington, North Carolina. This award recognizes NCADA members who are “eminently qualified to advocate for clients in state and federal courtrooms.” It is reserved for the “finest trial lawyers in the state.” Jon is one of only eight honorees to be awarded this recognition since it was first established.
Jon is a nationally-renowned trial lawyer. He has defended class actions, catastrophic personal injury and product liability cases, trade secret cases, and intellectual property matters. Jon also has handled a variety of corporate and other commercial litigation matters, including disputes among corporate shareholders and disputes about officer and director liability.
The NCADA is a professional organization that “brings together civil trial attorneys to promote the administration of justice, the exchange of information, ideas, and litigation techniques, and to strengthen the practice, improve the skills, and enhance the knowledge of lawyers who defend individuals and represent businesses in civil cases in North Carolina.” NCADA members practice in many different areas of the law, including medical malpractice, commercial litigation, general liability, workers’ compensation, product liability, labor and employment, construction, and local government law.
