Kelly Margolis Dagger Selected as Member of Criminal Justice Act Panel
Kelly Margolis Dagger has been selected for membership on the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Her membership has been approved by the Judges of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina and the Office of the Federal Public Defender. As a member of the Panel, Ms. Dagger will be appointed to represent federal criminal defendants who are unable to afford counsel.
The Criminal Justice Act Panel was created to provide effective, quality legal representation for all persons entitled to counsel under the Criminal Justice Act. The Panel is designed to ensure that persons accused of serious federal crimes will not be deprived of vigorous representation because they are unable to pay a qualified attorney. Attorneys who serve on the Panel must have demonstrated experience in, and knowledge of, federal criminal law, as well as experience in criminal defense representation. The Judges of the Eastern District of North Carolina approve all Panel members.
