NASCAR to Present Wendell Scott’s Family with Trophy from 1963 Victory

The Ellis & Winters team recently secured a long-awaited victory with the Scott family. The late Wendell Scott was the first Black race car driver to win a race at NASCAR’s highest level, the Grand National. NASCAR will formally present the Scott family with a trophy for Mr. Scott’s 1963 Cup Series victory later this month. The trophy will take the place of the one that Mr. Scott should have received for winning at Speedway Park in Jacksonville, Florida in December of 1963.

Frank Scott, the son of Wendell Scott, is a long-time friend and client of partner, Jon Sasser. Learn more about the Wendell Scott Foundation and its mission here.
