Ryan Bakelaar Presents at DRI Medical Liability and Health Care Law Seminar
Ellis & Winters partner, Ryan Bakelaar, M.D., J.D. is a featured speaker at DRI’s 2026 Medical Liability and Health Care Law Seminar in Nashville, Tennessee. The seminar takes place March 25 – 27, 2026 at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel.
Ryan will present “An Update on Birth Injury/Trauma Cases” during the seminar. As a defense attorney and a board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist, Ryan will bring his unique perspective to this review of current developments and issues in birth injury and birth trauma cases.
Ryan Bakelaar is a trial and litigation attorney who has focused on complex medical malpractice defense since he began practicing law in 2013. He is also a licensed, board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist who practiced medicine for nearly 15 years. Ryan determined that he wanted to attend both medical school and law school when he was a high school student. He set to work to accomplish this goal and achieved it, enabling him to bring his knowledge of both professions to bear in his defense of hospitals, doctors, and other healthcare professionals facing malpractice claims.
