Ellis & Winters
George Sanderson was quoted in the Aug. 25, 2006 Triangle Business Journal article titled “High Court Finding Bolsters Joint Venture Pricing Power.” The article appeared in the Journal’s special section “Five Rulings Your Business Needs to Know” and discusses the United States Supreme Court’s decision last term in Texaco, Inc. v. Dagher. In Dagher, the High Court unanimously held that a lawfully created joint venture’s unitary price setting policy did not constitute a per se violation of antitrust laws. Mr. Sanderson was quoted as saying that the Dagher decision signal that the Supreme Court is becoming “more understanding to arguments that joint ventures are pro-competitive.”
Sanderson graduated from Georgetown University (A.B., Magna Cum Laude, 1995) and the New York University School of Law (J.D., 1999). His practice focuses on several litigation areas including commercial litigation and antirust law. Mr. Sanderson currently is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Section Council for Antitrust and Trade Regulation.
