Sasser quoted during Geddings trial
Jonathan D. Sasser, representing witness Mac McCorkle — top political advisor to Governor Mike Easley — was quoted in the Sept. 28 edition of Raleigh’s News and Observer.
Sasser told the News and Observer that Mac McCorkle’s “best recollection is that he was called by Scott Anderson, who mentioned the name of Geddings, and Mac basically confirmed that that would be fine.” Sasser added that McCorkle had no knowledge of Scientific Games’ involvement. With regard to whether the governor was aware, Sasser said McCorkle “has a policy of not discussing with the press any conversations with the governor.”
