Overview
Elizabeth R. “Biz” Harrison, a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Group, is an established commercial real estate attorney with over 30 years of experience. She represents commercial buyers, sellers, developers, builders, and lenders in complex real estate matters, always delivering exceptional client service.
Elizabeth previously founded and led her own law practice for twenty years before transitioning to serve as Title Counsel for a major national Underwriter and later for a North Carolina Title Agency. She has amassed an impressive skill set handling commercial transactions both in North Carolina and throughout the country. She brings her proficiency in risk analysis and her passion for coordinating complex transactions to bear for every client.
In addition to her busy legal practice, Elizabeth has participated in legislative lobbying, drafting, stakeholder groups, and providing advice regarding statutes that affect real property including the Mechanic’s Lien legislation, revisions to the Power of Attorney statute, Curative Statute, revisions to the Condominium Act, and Remote Electronic Notary Act.
Elizabeth is currently active with the North Carolina Bar Association Real Property Section (NCBA RPS), North Carolina Land Title Association (NCLTA) and the Wake County Bar Association (WCBA) and is an appointed member of the Land Records Advisory Committee by the NC Secretary of State. Elizabeth had the honor to serve as the Chair of the NCBA Real Property Section in 2014. She is also a member of the Wake County Real Property Lawyers Association, the Real Estate Lawyers Association of North Carolina as well as the American Land Title Association. Recently she received the 2025 NCBA Real Property Section Distinguished Service Award, the WCBA 2025 President’s Award and has been featured in North Carolina Lawyers Weekly 2024 and 2025 Power List for Real Estate as well as being recognized on Business North Carolina’s annual Legal Elite list. Elizabeth also received the 2023 NCLTA Service Award for her title agency work.
Raleigh has been Elizabeth’s home since 1997 after growing up in Wilson, North Carolina. Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her daughter and son, traveling, the beach and painting. It is not uncommon to catch her at a UNC game or World Cup soccer event.
