Overview
Nick Gilder is a commercial real estate attorney with Ellis & Winters. He joined the firm after several years of practice at law firms in both Tennessee and North Carolina, where he developed widespread experience representing real estate developers, investors, homebuilding companies and other commercial real estate clients. His practice focuses on the acquisition and development of real property, including the negotiation and drafting of purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases and development-related agreements.
A native of Memphis, he attended Mississippi State University, where he was a member of the Psi Chi National Honor Society. He later earned his law degree from the University of Memphis, where he served as an editor of The University of Memphis Law Review, and as a member of the Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Travel Team.
Nick relocated to Durham with his wife during her medical residency and has made North Carolina home ever since. Outside the office, he is an active member of the local tennis community and enjoys staying involved in the sport both recreationally and competitively. He enjoys snow skiing with his wife and friends and taking trips that allow him to stay active and explore new places. On the weekends, you can often find him at the local greyhound meetup, where he and his wife take their retired racing greyhound, Wally.
