Ellis & Winters Welcomes Three Litigation Attorneys

Ellis & Winters is proud to announce that three attorneys have joined the firm’s Litigation Group in the Raleigh and Charlotte offices. The firm welcomes Kaitlin J. Pierce, Marie Scheperle, and Jacob V. Stewart.

Kaitlin joins the firm’s Raleigh office after completing a Judicial Clerkship with Judge Julianna Theall Earp of the North Carolina Business Court. Kaitlin is a graduate of North Carolina State University and Campbell University School of Law.

Marie, an experienced commercial litigator, joins the firm’s Charlotte office after serving as Chief of the Civil Division at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Alaska. Prior to working in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Marie served as an Assistant Public Defender in Alaska and first-chaired dozens of bench and jury trials. She focuses her practice on products liability, medical malpractice, and employment issues. 

Jacob joins the firm’s Raleigh office, after finishing two Judicial Clerkships, first for Judge Jeff Carpenter of the North Carolina Court of Appeals and second for Chief Judge Martin Reidinger of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. Prior to law school, Jacob earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting and worked as a certified public accountant.
